Accugrade
Statement

In my opinion, based on 25+ years of numismatic experience, the grades and attributes assigned by Accugrade do not correspond the the standards generally accepted in the marketplace.
The Accugrade company engages in what I consider to be an unethical practice, whereby the company's principal figure, Alan Hager, has encapsulated his own coins into Accugrade holders for sale in Internet auctions, without any disclaimer about this conflict of interest.
They do not posses the numismatic acumen or assets to reliably perform some services they advertise. This is particularly in reference to their offer to authenticate die varieties, but only if the customer provides a photocopy of the relevant reference page. Any acceptable attribution service will have its own library and prior experience in the field. Any variety designations on an ACG slab are suspect.
The failure of Accugrade to reform their practices may pose a more significant degree of financial risk to consumers who purchase coins based upon Accugrade's determinations than to those consumers who purchase coins based upon the opinions of more accepted authorities or personal education.

I discourage the use of their service and will not recommend any dealer who adheres to their grading philosophy, nor promotes Accugrade's service as acceptable.
